Spain asks EU data protection board to discuss OpenAI’s ChatGPT
The Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) has requested that the European Union’s privacy watchdog – the European Data Protection Board (EDBP) – evaluate possible privacy concerns in relation to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, as global scrutiny of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems increases.
Meanwhile, France’s data protection authority (CNIL) is investigating various complaints concerning ChatGPT, and Italy’s data regulator is assessing the measures proposed by OpenAI in response to issues that triggered its decision to temporarily block the chatbot on March 31st.
This further amplifies the gravity of the situation as nations worldwide seek to assess and address any potential dangers arising from AI technology.
