Russia’s Draft law proposes data subjects “choose processing purposes”
The Ministry of Telecommunications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation (‘Minsvyaz’) issued, on 25 April 2018, a draft Federal Law on Amending the Federal Law of 27 July 2006 No. 152-FZ On Personal Data.
In particular, the Draft Law proposes to amend Articles 9 and 11 of the Federal Law of 27 July 2006 No. 152-FZ On Personal Data in order to regulate consent for the processing of personal data, as well as to introduce a requirement to obtain consent for the processing of biometric data.
