New Cybersecurity Directives (NIS2 and CER) Enter into Force
On January 16th, 2023, two new directives came into effect impacting how organizations across the European Union approach cybersecurity and critical infrastructure.
The Network Information Systems 2 Directive (NIS2) replaces the current NIS Directive, offering a more streamlined and consistent set of rules for EU-based businesses. Meanwhile, the Critical Entities Resilience Directive (CER) supplants the European Critical Infrastructure Directive with stronger regulations for cyber and physical resilience of critical entities and networks.
