Hamburg DPA warns against the use of Zoom
The Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI) has officially warned the Senate Chancellery of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (FHH) to use the video conference solution from Zoom Inc. in the so-called on-demand variant.
In opinion of HmbBfDI, use of Zoom video conferencing tool violates the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as such use is associated with the transmission of personal data to the USA. In this third country there is insufficient protection for such data.
