EU telcos call for easier data processing under ePrivacy reform
The EU’s biggest telecom operators have reiterated a call for the proposed reform of the ePrivacy regulation to bring the rules for processing personal data more in line with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.
The joint statement from the GSMA, ETNO and Cable Europe comes ahead of a meeting of EU telecom ministers on 08 June, where they are expected to finalise their position on the reform first proposed by the European Commission in January 2017.
