EDPB Seeks Feedback on GDPR Template Development
The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) is seeking public input to develop practical templates aimed at helping organizations comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These templates are intended to provide clear, ready-to-use tools that support organizations in meeting their data protection obligations. The initiative follows the Helsinki Statement, which emphasizes enhanced clarity, support, and engagement for GDPR compliance.
Currently, the EDPB plans to create templates for Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and data breach notifications. However, the consultation invites stakeholders to suggest additional templates that would be most beneficial. Examples include templates for privacy notices and records of processing activities. The goal is to identify the most useful resources that can assist organizations of all sizes in managing GDPR requirements more efficiently.
Contributions to the consultation can be submitted through an online survey by December 3, 2025. Participants may provide feedback by filling in a text field or uploading a document of up to 2,500 characters (approximately one page). The EDPB encourages transparency but ensures that personal or confidential information is excluded from published contributions to protect anonymity.
All contributions will be published on the EDPB website following a screening process to remove unauthorized content such as spam. The EDPB also notes that submitted feedback may be subject to access requests under EU transparency regulations, with appropriate safeguards in place to protect personal data. This public consultation represents an opportunity for organizations and individuals to influence the development of practical GDPR compliance tools.
