Belgian Data Protection Authority Clarifies Key Rules on Biometric Data Processing
The Belgian Data Protection Authority issued its recommendation on biometric data processing. The recommendation provides guidance on how to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when processing biometric data.
The recommendation covers questions as when a behavioral characteristic is biometric data, GDPR’s household exemption, responsibilities between the controller and the biometric service provider, explicit consent and more.
