Mumbai lawyer seeks damages from Air India for data breach
An Air India customer has sought Rs 15 lakh (about 20,000 USD) as damages from the airline over the recent data breach of nearly 4.5 million passengers, including him.
Claimant’s notice to Air India seeking compensation under the IT and Consumer Protection Acts says the sensitive data breached “is extremely private” as it includes date of birth, personal contact, passport, ticket information and credit card details.
