Italian DPA opens investigation into smart glasses
Italian data protection authority Garante asked the Irish Authority (DPC – Data Protection Commission) to solicit FaceBook to answer a series of questions about smart glasses equipped with the “Facebook View” before marketing the glasses on the Italian market.
The Italian DPA asked about the legal basis in relation to which Facebook processes personal data; the measures put in place to protect people occasionally shot, in particular minors; any systems adopted to anonymize the data collected; the characteristics of the voice assistant connected to the glasses.
