Google Delays Third-Party Cookie Phaseout Until 2024
On July 27, 2022, Google announced that it is delaying its plans to phase out third-party cookies in the Chrome web browser. Google intend to begin phasing out third-party cookies in Chrome in the second half of 2024. Befire that Google expects the Privacy Sandbox APIs to be launched and generally available in Chrome.
Chavez indicated that Google extended the timeline after receiving consistent feedback that developers need more time to evaluate and test the new Privacy Sandbox tools before deprecating third-party cookies in Chrome.
