Firefox Unveils New Tool To Prevent Cookie-Based Tracking
Mozilla’s Firefox browser has unveiled a new privacy tool aimed at blocking tracking by ad tech companies. The new feature, “Total Cookie Protection,” prevents cross-site tracking by keeping cookies in what Firefox is calling a “cookie jar.”
“Any time a website, or third-party content embedded in a website, deposits a cookie in your browser, that cookie is confined to the cookie jar assigned to that website, such that it is not allowed to be shared with any other website,” the company says.
