Dutch DPA allows DFW’s processing of personal data for copyright infringement purposes

14 December 2017 The Dutch data protection authority (‘AP’) announced, on 7 December 2017, that it had authorised film distributor Dutch FilmWorks (‘DFW’) to collect and process the personal data, such as IP addresses, of individuals who illegally download copyright protected materials, in order for it to tackle copyright infringement.
