Joint guide to ASEAN Model Contractual Clauses and EU Standard Contractual Clauses

On May 23, 2023, the European Commission and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) unveiled a comprehensive guide exploring the parallels and disparities between the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers (SCCs) and ASEAN’s Model Contractual Clauses (MCCs), to enable enterprises to comply with both regions’ provisions on data movement. This Guide is includes a Reference Guide which compare the terms of the MCCs and the SCCs, as well as an Implementation Guide offering advice on how firms can use either set of clauses in practice.
