European Commission’s recommendation should provide non-exhaustive guidance to Member States and relevant stakeholders, in particular network operators and technology suppliers, for achieving a higher level of cybersecurity in view of the specific real-time requirements identified for the energy sector, cascading effects and the combination of legacy and state-of-the-art technologies. This guidance aims at helping stakeholders keep in mind the specific requirements of the energy sector when implementing internationally recognised cybersecurity standards.
