The European Data protection Board (EDPB) has adopted draft guidelines on video surveillance, which clarify the application of the GDPR to personal data processing involved in the use of traditional and smart video devices and, in particular, in relation to processing sensitive data. The guidelines also cover the lawfulness of processing, the applicability of the household exemption and sharing footage with third parties.
